Q: what are the two most important things to include in a weekend long recording session at a haunted mansion on an island in the middle of the atlantic?
A: hand claps and 5 second animals with adjectives! see if you can guess what these are:

here is a list of some of the great creatures we drew (in 5 seconds or less): platypus, organized otter, giraffe, dying whale, pissing monkey, flying cow, unicorn (standard), screaming turtle, panda bear (not the band), horseshoe crab, african swallow, hammerhead shark…
we have subliminal messages in our music!
We’re wintering in the Vineyard right now, recording two new tracks for our upcoming EP (release and title yet to be determined). Pictures and more information will follow. Here’s a blog convo between John and Louie to entertain you until then.———– I have to pee. I see the head in plain sight, but nothing is plain, alright? See you later on tonight! How wonderfully mad! Our party is just beginning and the end is in sight.Where? I don’t see it.It’s next to the middle, you blind bat.Ah, I see it now. How terrible…are we now in the middle? I would assume so. But we’ve only just begun. Have we ended yet?Inside your world of wow, till the end times begin I presume, strange…. is that some parable, or a very subtle joke? mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm. Indeed, subtlety is but a clam eating rose pedals, as they say. But for your traveling point i’ll draw a target and place it facing the lighter fare of a middle-dee not quite at the end. It goes like this - sing it with me, now. ‘And when you get hooooo-oome, you might have to leee-ee-ee-eaaave.’ You see. I think it likely we will not leave our home upon arriving but it is quite humorous to think as though we will. I think…otherwise, and there it is.that’s enough.agreed.
We were somewhere around [Wood's Hole?] on the edge of the [shore] when the [cold] began to take hold. I remember saying something like, “I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive [onto the ferry] . . .”And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about 100[-90] miles an hour with the top down to [Oak Bluffs]. And a voice was screaming: “Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?
this is the most recent bunch of requests we received on myspace for friendship:

i’m not going to list my top 10 because i feel as though louie, john, and jared already covered everything i would have mentioned. i will however list three ‘07 albums i loved that none of them posted:
a. emily haines - what’s free to a good home (ep)
b. the national - boxer
c. yeasayer - all hour cymbals (burningstreets’s recommendation)
here are some futuristic music lists - because the post post modernist (i’m usually behind the times… is it post post post now or just something new and cool??? i guess we won’t know for a while) only buys ringtones… but i hack my iphone and make them for free.
